Shock wave evolution into strain solitary wave in nonlinearly elastic solid bar

چکیده

In this paper we present thorough experimental observation of the process shock wave transformation into a bulk strain solitary in nonlinearly elastic solid bar made polystyrene. A theoretical model based on describing propagation plane is developed with account for material nonlinearity and viscosity. Numerical modeling performed base without regard to viscosity demonstrated formation long stable disturbance at proper viscoelastic properties material.
